Tess Brennan grew up in Newark, New Jersey and graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University and Rutgers University School of Law. She also studied international law at the University of Leiden, in The Netherlands.
Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Brennan worked in various publishing and marketing roles in New York with McGraw-Hill, Dun & Bradstreet, Fortune magazine and Time-Warner. She worked as an editor with The New Jersey Law Journal and with its book publishing imprint.
She served as a research assistant to a New Jersey Supreme Court Justice, and as a judicial law clerk to a NJ Superior Court Judge.
She began her private practice with an Amlaw 100 firm doing corporate work, including everything from real estate to corporate securities work to closely-held companies’ business succession planning. and has since practiced in a variety of areas, most recently in insurance subrogation, personal injury and employment law.
She has been the recipient of the Adams Pro Bono Publico Award multiple times and is active in local government on the South Shore, where she lives with her family. She sees her work in law as an opportunity to help people resolve their problems, leverage their resources, and exploit their opportunities in the best ways possible.
